woohoo! that was artistry!

it was just absolutely awesome!
Okay so i was prepared to go through a drab of a time anticipating the announcement of whoever it is that would be "crowned" as season 8's American Idol. But then what a terrific surprise the whole show was. I haven't seen such grandiose display of music and entertainment in a long while. Not a single performance could be deemed as a filler just to extend the show to a full two hours. The Season 8 Finale was thoroughly entertaining to say the least.
highlights...

to cap off the most exciting season of American Idol... Kris Allen bagged the title to everyone's surprise...
... including himself it seems.
Astonishing finish, really.

they're coming...
excuse my fan-girling but i got to get this out of my system...
THEY ARE COMING! OMG! F4'S REALLY COMING!!

This is major deja vu! I went to all the Taiwan F4 gigs way back in the day when I thought they were awesome. Now it's F4 mania all over again!
AAAAHHH!!! *faints*
Here's a link to the announcement.

ang sarap ma-in-love...
ahh... love...
The word giddy isn't possibly enough to describe how i felt while watching the abs-cbn special on the uberly talked about Santos-Agoncillo wedding. Kilig better suits it! And the reason why is because of how, you know, giddy the couple were... especially the groom!!! Judy Anne was the picture of a composed yet anticipating bride. While Ryan was all jumpy and, what's the word... radiant... seems like he's all but stopping himself from running towards the bride to meet her in the middle of the aisle just so they could be married already. Ryan captured it perfectly when he told the photo crew "sabihan nyo lang ako kung nahihirapan kayong bumalance sa sobrang laki ng ngiti ko ha!" (just tell me if your having a hard time finding a balance [for the picture] because I grinning from ear to ear).
Ah!!! Every girl's dream... well, mine anyway! =) yes, i was one of those girls who had mad love for Ryan way back in the day when he would strut his stuff at la salle. but who could begrudge him when he looks sooo happy getting hitched!

Look at that face! He's just beeming with happiness!
Now I'm just waiting for Jason Magbanua's post of the video of the wedding of the year. It's very rare that I prefer videos over the photos of a wedding. But this is a worthy exception.
Can you feel the love tonight... na na na na na na...

ako mismo...

UPDATE:
I read somewhere that apparently this campaign turns out to be a ploy to get a listing of voters for promotional purposes and political agendas. It is purported that in the terms of agreement, which no body ever reads, is a clause wherein Smart Communications may use the information provided may be used for such-and-such campaigns. Hmmm... if this holds out to be true, then too bad. I've been waiting for an advocacy wherein we Filipinos are tasked to take responsibility for whatever happens to our country, good or bad. It's always been my opinion that this country's biggest problem is not poverty but the lack of nationalism and the apathy that runs through its citizens.
london bridge has fallen down...
my mom and my sister had a bet...
sis - Team Pacman / mom - Team Hatton
now my sister is a couple of hundred bucks richer...
... and i really got to admit that it was absolutely unexpected how the match turned out. Just proves how talented Pacquiao is and how great a coach Roach is (hmm... somehow typing the coach and roach seemed childishly funny)
but best of all was how Pacquiao almost always returns the glory to the Man above in all of his interviews.
here's a clip of the highlights of the match:

himala...
You've all heard it before...
Yep, me included. But haven't even gotten a glimpse of a single frame from the movie til today.
After our Good Friday sojourn to Church for the Veneration of the Cross, I was stuck in front of the tv with a pesky though mild and tolerable headache. I landed on the local channel showing Himala... you know the movie which stars Nora Aunor as a seer.
It was good alright... in a creepy sorta way. It showed how hungry the human race is for miracles and such. But are miracles all there is to faith?
The movie also hit home a premise I've been deliberating in my head for quite a while. We Filipinos proclaim ourselves as the only Christian nation in Asia. Again I ask, how substantial is the faith that we so proudly herald for all to hear? Every town in this country has a patron and a feast day venerating that particular guardian. After the festivities have died down, though, what is left? Don't get me wrong. I do admire the Filipino's strong belief in God's providence and His hand in our daily lives which brings about our resilience in face of all trials. The Nation of Smiles is brought about by this, I believe. XD But there is a line between faith and fanaticism. And we, my friends, are treading that line.
Faith without transformation is meaningless. Faith should transcend religiosity and flow into actual deeds of love and kindness towards those we meet and interact with daily.
Now if only each Filipino would actually live his faith...
"Walang himala!"

it's finally here!
It's the day! The day I cross over to the dark side... the big three-oh no no!
But it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I didn't feel as horrible as others who've gone before me (how sullen did that sound?!). Not that I feel younger or anything; it's just feels like I can now start on another journey. Hmmm...
Day 1 (afternoon)
The whole shebang commenced the day before my actual birthday with a movie date with my best gal pals and dinner with the rest of the troop.
First off, the movie. If you bump into any lady in the metro and ask her what the heck a sun dance and power hug mean, they probably daze you with a knowing smile. Well, that is if you didn't chance upon me! Until a couple of weeks ago, I would probably be the only one who would present you with my most animated "duh!" look when confronted with that question.
And since I am not one who'd be left behind when it comes to pop culture... I embarked on the mission of finally watching John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo in the movie A Very Special Love a year after it was shown in the theater! This is in preparation of the previously mentioned movie date. You guessed it right, dude. We watched the sequel You Changed My Life.
More on this particular event later on.
Day 1 (evening)
Then Friday's it is for dinner. This is the downside of Robinson's Galleria. There's pretty much no where to eat decent comfort food in here aside from Friday's and Mr. Choi's. As one requirement of my friend Eva is bottomless iced tea, we headed on to TGIF.
Pics to be upped as soon as I get 'em from Arianne!
Day 2
Yipee! Official first visit to Little Tokyo! Not so yummy lunch with the whole family at Nikunikutei but the trip and the ambiance is way too cool to pass up. Yannis had super fun at the garden and at Choto Stop.
Next in the agenda is the photoshoot at Blow Up Babies Serendra for the little boys. Waaay stressful but fun! The boys fixed up as eggsd, boxers, and little people inside styroball-filled crates. Photos up...
Not bad for a 30th birthday celeb, eh!

Lozada: Immorality in govt still rampant
this isn't actually a video of the interview that I saw. The one I was able to catch was the one of Korina's interview of Mr. Lozada. Will try to see if that one's posted on the ANC site. And edit this post out.

virus...
My baby's sick!! =(
Fine, fine! He's not a baby anymore...
... anyway, after 2 years, we're back to the ER!
... my baby boy doesn't even look like he could fit comfortably on the bed at the ER Pedia Room anymore!
... blood extraction...
... hmmm...
... he was so brave while the MT was poking around looking for a big, plumb vein to abuse
... no crying spells... until...
... until he saw the blood! Whaaa!
... Puff!! Boys!
So what's the verdict? Good 'ol virus! Sheesh!

So what does it take for you to become a true pop culture phenomenon?.. How about being mentioned in a Sunday comic.

growing up...
... just had a dose of 80's pinoy music
... this song totally made me sway my arms above my head and grooooove! =)
Heres to the old times and the best of new ones
Heres to a song of glee
Finding our way from illusions to realities
Hoping to wake up from this madness
Hoping to see you smile
Pushing our way to the limit of yours and mine
Chorus:
Im growing up, getting down
Putting my both feet on the ground
With all my friends behind me
How can I go wrong this time?
Im growing up, getting down
Think of reality came around
Not just waiting for the daybreak
Expecting the sun to shine
It doesnt shine all the time
II.
Falling in love, falling apart
You think its the end of the line
Holding hand while crying, then youll feel just fine
If youre thinking that youre the only one
Well, take a look around and youll find
Ill be there where you are
Then and now, I say
Repeat Chorus
Repeat I
... this song totally made me sway my arms above my head and grooooove! =)

bouffant...
WORD FOR THE DAY ---> bouf·fant
- Pronunciation: \bü-ˈfänt, ˈbü-ˌ\
- Function: adjective
- Etymology: French, from Middle French, from present participle of bouffer to puff
- Date: 1832
: puffed out <bouffant hairdos> bouffant veil>
(excerpt)
--- 0O0 ---
... on one of those rare days off, I stumbled upon this article and was pretty amused ...(excerpt)
"I had no idea what was going on. I would love to see what the first take was, especially after seeing the final thing with one bit of the fight with me and Cam. Where we were growling at each other, where we both were really into it like we were vampires.
"When we watched the playback afterwards, there was a big bright light and we didn't realize, we thought it was kind of dark and you could just see these two guys, one with a bouffant hair cut and the other with his abs just there like "Argh!"

really now...
I know my mom could be truly unabashed at times. She's A) called out to Mr. BF of the MMDA on the street as if they were compadres B) gotten up to the Cheez-man of the Senate out at GH and accosted Mike Defensor over at what's that horse-riding place at Baguio, like old buddies; among other things. But this is like at the top of that list --->

She really just tapped the poor lady on the shoulders for a photo op... inside Zara... while she was trying on a pair of majorly high-heeled shoes for goodness' sake!!!
Good thing Iza Calzado is pretty much low key and pleasant!
That's my mom! Sigh! XD

are you blind?!!!
whew! today was some day...
... got Yannis' report card ---> all A-ok! really, really happy with it!
... met up with good buddy Eva ---> way down south! hmm... what can a say, an emotional roller-coaster. not to mention calorie overload, dude! grrr! It really makes me sad that these things are happening with her. But I know she's tough. Hell, she's resilient enough to weather this situation, that's what!
My friend aside, one thing that was such a shocker to me today was that way back in the day (when I was 30 pounds lighter and uberly in luurrrv! urg!) I was so seriously oblivious to actual happenings that would have made my life so much different from what it is now. Wait, that made more sense in my head than on my screen. Anyway, I know that everyone goes thru such light-bulb moments, but this was pertaining to my lurvlife. If I wasn't soooo ooey-gooey and way over my head with my ex-husband, I wouldn't have film over my eyes and I would have seen the person just lurking around... for years. Duhhhh!

heart-thumping...
and because i was already surfing youtube, i checked out Marriedsubs's channel...
... a little background ---> after WGM's Ssangchoo couple aired their farewell episode, I went through a major self-denial of anything and everything Korean. I just didn't want to see nor hear any of it for a while lest i get overly fixated all over. I just got too emotional with the whole WGM thingamajig, so you get the picture.
... but then i came across the videos of the MBC Awards...
... Seeing all the old couples together brings back this old familiar flutter in my tummy; back in the days when everything the couples do bring heart-thumping giddy feelings! XD

more bananas...
after a few days, this is how i've fared...
... I've cheated twice already (as I ran out bananas!) XD
... I noticed that bananas really do boost energy; and i don't seem to be too hungry by lunch time as compared to my previous morning routine
I'll wait for a couple more weeks to lay down my verdict.
In the meantime, here's a really funny take on how to go about this diet.

morning banana...

One of my new year's resolutions... so far I'm on track... no fainting spells right before lunch.
It looks like a pretty sustainable diet. Well, definitely waaay better than a cabbage diet, yes?
Let's see how I fare ultimately. Keeping all my fingers crossed that this works! =)
For those of you who'd like to embark on this, here's how it works ---> Morning Banana Diet
whoa... hoax...
I was aghast when I came across this article...
... Takipsilim ---> ABS-CBN's adaptation of the Twilight franchise
... WHAT!!!
... Good thing this all turned out to be a dupe!
... Or was it really a raw idea rolling in the heads of bigwigs of the network that was foiled by an overwhelming detestation from netizens and beyond?!
